Before reading the list below.....Logic Studio - which is the only way to get Logic Pro 8 - also offers WaveBurner, MainStage, SoundTrack Pro 2, Compressor and 36+ GB of additional sound/Apple Loop library (including all Jam Packs except "Voices"). None of this comes with Logic Express.
Logic Express 8 is actually the same as Logic Pro 8 - without the following features:
- Support for high-end control surfaces (Euphonix, SmartAV)
- DAE/TDM support
- DAP (distributed audio processing with Logic Node)
- Surround
- EVP88
- EVB3
- EVD6
- Sculpture
- Space Designer
- Delay Designer
- Linear Phase EQ
- Match EQ
- Multipressor (there is only the 'Preset Multipressor' as in LE7)
- AdLimiter
- Multimeter
My thanks to yoctoyotta for this info.

Quick question - I have Logic Express 8.0.2 ... and love it. If I upgrade using Apple's ($299US) Logic Studio upgrade program will it actually turn Logic Express 8 into a fully functional Logic Studio and Logic Pro program?
BTW I'm brand new to the forum ... looks like an awesome resourse!!
Thanks

The "upgrade" is a full installation of Logic Studio in addition to Logic Express.
The installer checks for a Logic Express installation on the computer.
Logic Express remains / can still be used on the machine, or perhaps you could install it on a second Mac, if you have one.
Both can then be used simultaneously (on separate machines).
Oh...and welcome to the forums.
