Apparently this is a damn cool little event to attend and is free. I just signed up. Eddie Kramer shows the Waves GTR3 stuff with a guitarist and even better listening sessions of the new Waves Jack Joseph Puig plug-ins which are apparently very well done.

Cheers looks pretty cool, shame its so far away!
Btw, has anyone clocked Waves prices for plugins. Is it me or are they living on a different planet? I am pretty sure they just pluck the price out the air, and somoe of those plugs are so old! SSL Collection $800, umm you can get duende for less than that! and why is TDM double the price of Native?

I have often wondered this myself. Infact, I asked a Pro-Tools guy once and his response was "It's what now? Twice as expensive as the same for Logic for the same Plug? What the ....?"
Anyone have an answer to this (sorry, didn't mean to hi-jack your thread. The event looks really cool.)

I don't know the answer myself, but I have always assumed it's because it's a proprietary format, specifically for Pro Tools.
If it's TDM, it'll be guaranteed to work, and work perfectly, including low latency values recording through the plug-ins, in a PT HD system.
Is it worth twice the amount? I doubt it...
Some justify it by saying it sounds better, although I personally have not noticed any difference sonically... but I've never A/B's them either.
