Hi All,

So had been using Logic on PC up till the whole switch to Apple decision. Since I have been running Cubase ( now version 4) on my PC. Now I have a little more financial resources and think I will buy a Mac and move to Logic 8. What I am wondering and this is probably for those who know the PC world, is: Will a new Mac Book Pro Core 2 Duo 2.5Gz with 2 gigs of Mac ram and the 7200 rpm HD be powerfull enough for me as I am currently using about 80 % of my cpu resources on my PC and about 1.8 gigs of ram with Cubase 4

( My current PC is: Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz.....2 gigs ram and a 7200rpm HD.)?

I am not too familiar with how Mac uses its resources compared to PCs and I do not want to sell myself short.
I use several tracks of virtual instruments...3-5 tracks of guitar and 10-12 tracks vocals. Pop/rockish stuff smile.gif

Thank you,
K

Based on what you want to do it would be enough. I just switched a few months back. The first upgrades I had to make were an external HD and more Ram. But I am running around 40 parts at once. The sound card you pick will be an important factor obviously regarding latency.

If you like to be portable MBPro is the way to go. Otherwise you can get an iMac with a bigger screen and still have money left to add more RAM, get an external HD and a good audio interface (stay away from USB).
